You are not alone. Reaching out
to connect with others can be
the lifeline you need.
Many veterans are finding a meaningful life in agriculture, in Kansas and across the nation. The challenges facing farmers and ranchers everywhere may be new to veterans who are joining the agriculture industry. In addition, current and former service members face different mental health issues than the general public, and the ag-related stress can be compounded by these unique challenges.

Kansas Agricultural Mediation Services (KAMS)
The cause of stress for many farmers and ranchers has its roots in financial and legal challenges of the farm or ranch business. The Kansas Agricultural Mediation Services (KAMS) is a state agricultural mediation program that helps farmers and ranchers explore options through mediation as well as other financial and legal concerns they might have. For example, KAMS helps with appeal options for USDA adverse decisions: farm loan delinquency, denial, or adverse decisions for USDA farm programs. Call and talk to a KAMS attorney at no cost.
